SENSES

Sight, smell, sound, taste, touch…
Writing with your senses is a good way to get more information about your story or to find a new angle. Maybe you tend to write mostly about the sight of things, it’s all about what you see, what about sound? Try to involve more senes into your writing. Not all of them need to be included all of the time but here’s something to explore and to exercise. Let’s take a brief moment and think of songs where you can recall or remember how senses has been used. Can you think of any? If you think of your favorite songs how do they use senses in the lyrics? What senses are they using and how?

Using senses can really add perspective and some dynamic to the story. If you ever get stuck try to think of describing the situation or feeling from a new angle with your senses.
